ART AS POWER

Dawn Behrens, a resident of Stillwater, Oklahoma, is an emerging later-in-life (70 years young) acrylic painter, clay sculptor, and mixed media artist. She started painting seriously and sculpting in November, 2020 while sheltering at home during the pandemic.

Her education includes a B.S. from the University of Central Oklahoma and an M.A from Oklahoma State University. After many years teaching in Brick & Mortar schools, Dawn could not return to the classroom during the pandemic. She now teaches in virtual live classes as she pursues her art. She realizes that art is power for her.

Dawn is, also, an actor and a published author and made her first painting when writing one of her children's picture books titled Benjamin Boo Paints
